India Vs West Indies 3rd ODI Preview

India Vs West Indies ODI series now moves on to the western parts of India. The venue for 3rd ODI is Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad.

India has an upper hand with 2 wins and just one more win will hand over them a series win. West Indies is desperately looking for a win to prove a point in this series. They have never let things go easy for India. First match went down to the last overs and second match displayed a brave innings from the number 10 batsman Ravi Rampaul. His 86 runs with 6 sixes was worth watching. His surprise factor was followed by brilliant batting from Virat and Rohit that took India home.

Let us discuss some facts and figures about this venue. This ground brings mixed success stories for India. Out of 13 matches played here, India could manage to win only 6. The last match they played here brings some pleasant memories. India defeated Australia in the World cup 2011 to march ahead and ultimately clinch the ODI World Champions title.

One of the interesting matches played here includes India Vs West Indies ODI of 2002. West Indies scored a mammoth 324 runs which was successfully chased by India sparing 14 balls in the end. Major contributors in this match were Gayle (140), Sarwan (99), Laxman (66), Dravid (109) and Bangar  (57). West Indies loves to play here as they have beaten India more than once on this ground.

Both the captains, Sehwag and Sammy would like to see more runs flowing from their bats. Just before the tour to Australia fans are concerned about the form of Gambhir and Sehwag. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has scored two half tons on the trot. Kohli looks like a future batting star for India has he reached his 8th ODI ton in a very short span of time. Even runs from Suresh Raina has dried up and he is a very good future prospect for India. Indian outfit looks pretty comfortable with its bowling department.

West Indies needs to convert chances into wins. Both the earlier matches could have easily seen a result the other way round. They need to act as per the situations and handle the pressure more effectively. It is imperative that they do something out of the box at Motera to keep the series alive. Otherwise we can predict another win for India which also gives them the series.

Meanwhile news has come in that Sachin Tendulkar is likely to play in the last two ODIs of this series. Will these two matches bring his 100th International ton? Let us wait and watch through live cricket streaming espn star.
