After a series of exciting matches in the warm up stage and the qualifier stage, this promises to be one of the most exciting editions of T20 World Cup. Defending champions West Indies have kicked off the proceedings with two straight wins in the warm up matches. West Indies skipper is happy to see the team winning but he is also not taking things lightly.
Australia looks a team to beat. After a long bad phase of cricket, the team seems to have revived a lot after Ashes win and a great series win in South Africa. Australia is placed in a tough group consisting of India, West Indies, Pakistan and Bangladesh the hosts.
Sri Lanka is another good team that is in the race of favourites. They have entered the finals of almost all the ICC events in the recent past. Unfortunately they have failed to win any. The team looks in great form especially after clinching the Asia Cup.
Pakistan is a completely unpredictable team. They lose few the win few. But they are one of the most exciting teams to watch. They have played the most T20 matches so far and with such an experience they can also be considered as favourites.
New Zealand has gained a lot of confidence after beating India in New Zealand. And world knows they are a great unit when it comes to T20 cricket.
England and South Africa can create wonders but they need to trust their potential in big events. They need to possess the killer instinct that takes teams home in such big ICC events.
India struggled a lot with its form with just two International wins in 2014 that too against minnows. A narrow loss against Srilanka in warm ups was followed by a good win against England. India will open its account against Pakistan which could easily be the biggest match of this T20 world cup. If the bowlers click for India, they have a bright chance to win another T20 world cup.
With no clear favourites this time, T20 World Cup 2014 promises to be a cracker. Just keep loving this game and stay tuned with Star Sports live streaming that is available on the official site www.starsports.com. This will be available in India.
