Australia and India have both tasted atleast a win in this tri series. Srilanka still remains winless. Australia has infact got a rollicking start to this tri series with two wins from their first two matches. The first one they won against India was a comprehensive one. The second one they played against Srilanka was a narrow win. But ultimately it is the win that matters.
Australia now stands on first rank in points table with 9 points including one bonus point they earned against India. Srilanka is pointless at this moment and India has 4 points. Australia seemed to be wobbing in their two matches if we consider their top batting order. But solid batting performances from the middle order, especially from the Hussey brothers have saved them twice.
Bowling for Australia till now has been upto the task. The only problem Australia may face is that they have only one spinner and Adelaide may favour spinners a bit. But then we all know that the pacemen of Australians have always anchored them to a win.
India also faces a similar problem of nonperforming top order. Sehwag has not been impressive with bat so far on this tour to Australia. We still remember his double century against West Indies and he needs to repeat a similar kind of feat in this CB Series. A lot is expected from Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Virat Kohli stands as the most run scorer this series and if he continues his good form that would be a relief for India.
With Ashwin and Zaheer Khan being the two prime bowlers, we saw a better bowling performance against Srilanka and the bowling needs to click again and that too throughout the innings; without leaking runs. Rahul Sharma is pretty impressive with his leg breaks and hopefully he makes into the playing eleven.
We all can expect a tight match here at Adelaide Oval when India will play to prove a mark in the ODIs whereas Australia would love to extend their top position in the points tally.
