India vs Srilanka - Tri Series 2013 Cricket Match

India vs Srilanka

Celkon Mobile Cup 2013 moves to another match India takes on Srilanka. The hosts West Indies have played two and won two! They are almost through to the finals with two more matches for them to be played in the round robin. India and Srilanka both would like to win here and take the second spot in the points tally. Every win from here on for India or Srilanka would be a huge confidence booster and steps towards the finals. Ten Cricket and Ten Sports will telecast the match live on TV in India.

India being the world champions are still considered to be the favourites. Although they lost their first match to West Indies in a tight contest, they can bounce back and win the remainder of the matches. The biggest blow to Indian team has been the injury to their best captain ever MS Dhoni. He has been ruled out of the tournament and Rayudu will replace him in the squad.

Virat Kohli will lead the side. This serves him a good opportunity to learn the captaincy skills and handle the pressure out of India. After losing the first match he agreed that absence of Dhoni was felt when team was under pressure in the death overs. Overall Indian team looks settled. If Dhawan and Rohit can give a good start, the remaining batsmen can capitalise on it. Even the bowlers need a decent target to defend.

Srilanka on the other hand has seen a lot of defeats against India in recent past. The head to head stats are improving in favour of India constantly. Sans Jayawardene and Mathews, none of the other batsmen clicked against West Indies in the first match. It is very important that the experienced duo of Jayawardene and Sangakkara contribute enough runs in absence of Dilshan. A lot also relies on the bowling of Malinga, Kulasekara and the spinners Herath and Mendis.

Agreed that cricket fans are subjected to too many India vs Srilanka matches but somewhere we also get to witness some good cricket between these two nations. Let us hope for another exciting finish!
