We hope you all are enjoying this edition of T20 World Cup which has had all kinds of uncertainties. We saw teams like New Zealand or Pakistan that kicked off well but ultimately got eliminated. Srilanka kicked off very well with couple of wins in the warm ups followed by good wins against South Africa and Netherlands. Their unbelievable loss against England brought them under pressure as they landed themselves in a do or die affair against New Zealand. With another good display of spin bowling from Herath and company, Srilanka managed to beat New Zealand comfortably and qualify for the semi finals. They stood first in Group 1 ahead of South Africa. Hence they will face second ranked team of Group 2 which is defending champions West Indies. Ranked one team in Group 2 India will face South Africa in the second semi final.
West Indies have had similar story. They lost to India which happened to be their only loss. Hence even they locked horns against Pakistan in the decider for semi finalists. West Indies defeated Pakistan very similar to the way Sri Lanka thumped New Zealand.
With lot of similarities in terms of performances and team composition, we are set to have a great semi final ahead. Srilanka boasts its success with the presence of unplayable Malinga. On the other hand West Indies can rely on Gayle's hitting. As well all know teams with good spinners have succeeded in this world cup. Hence West Indies and Srilanka can both rely on their quality spinners that include Badree, Narine, Herath and Mendis.
